After Alabama football removed Agiye Hall from the roster, Nick Saban’s comments make it even more clear the four-star WR isn’t likely to return.

Is Agiye Hall going to play for Alabama football in 2022 or beyond?

Head coach Nick Saban addressed the status of the former five-star wide receiver on Wednesday and it doesn’t sound good.

ā€œHe is suspended from the team for violations of some team rules, whether they’re academic or whatever. It doesn’t really matter,ā€ Saban said per Clint Lamb of On3. ā€œEverybody has a responsibility and obligation to respect the principles and values and do what they need to do. They’re all there to help them be more successful, so to respect those and do those are always really helpful.ā€

Nick Saban on Agiye Hall returning: ā€œHe already had that opportunity once.ā€

The most telling quote came when another reporter pressed about what Hall would need to do to earn his spot back.

ā€œWell, he already had that opportunity once,ā€ Saban said. ā€œSo I don’t know what his plans are for the future.ā€

That doesn’t sound at all like Saban expects Hall to make his way back into his good graces.

Hall was a four-star in the class of 2021, ranking No. 45 in the 247Sports composite. He was rated as the fifth-best wide receiver in the class.

The Tide have lost leading receivers Jameson Williams and John Metchie III to the NFL Draft, so they could use a pass-catcher with Hall’s size and skillset for the coming season. However, they aren’t totally adrift without the would-be sophomore who caught four passes for 72 yards last year.

Alabama landed Georgia’s Jermaine Burton in the transfer portal and has recruited its share of highly-touted receiver prospects in recent years. They landed three Top 100 receivers in the class of 2022 including No. 35 Aaron Anderson, No. 56 Shazz Preston and No. 78 Kobe Prentice.
