LeBron James would like to form another NBA superteam with Stephen Curry
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James named Golden State Warriors legend Stephen Curry as the player he most wants to play with in the NBA.
LeBron James’ career is going to come to an end eventually, but the 37-year-old still has eyes on playing with a couple of figures before it is all said and done.
On James’ most recent appearance on The Shop, he revealed who those are.
Stephen Curry is at the top of the list of current NBA stars.
“Steph Curry’s the one that I want to play with for sure in today’s game,” James said.
LeBron James would love to play with Steph Curry
“I love everything about that guy. When he gets out his car you better guard him right from the moment he pulls up to the arena,” James said. “You might wanna guard him when he gets out of bed.”
Could that actually happen? It doesn’t feel like the type of thing to bet on. James has another year left on his deal with the Lakers and will be 39 when he’s up for free agency next.
However, Curry wasn’t the first name to come up in James’ ultimate ranking of would-be teammates. It was his son.
“Bronny is number 1 on my f—— list,” James said.
Bronny James is about to enter his senior year of high school, so he won’t enter college until the fall of 2023. The earliest he could enter the draft is 2024, and that’s if he warrants one-and-done status.
So LeBron will have to have an eye on staying in the league into his 40s if he really wants to play with his son. If that’s the case, maybe a move to the Warriors to join Curry makes more sense, especially if it’s at an affordable rate. James could see Golden State as a place to extend his career without being the main man. Who knows?
In the words of that kid from Angels in the Outfield: “It could happen.”
