Watch Tiger Woods tee off at The Masters: Golf fans celebrate comeback
After all the buildup, all of the speculation and all of the excitement, Tiger Woods teed off at The Masters and golf fans everywhere were celebrating.
It may have taken a half-hour longer than expected due to an early-morning weather delay at The Masters, but Tiger Woods is officially back in competition.
Teeing off alongside Louis Oosthuizen and Joaquin Niemann on Thursday for the first round, Woods was the first in the group to step up to the first tee and swing away.
It may have been blocked a little bit and only traveled 264 yards and short of the big fairway bunker, but to see Tiger Woods back at Augusta National Golf Club and in any sort of competitive golf at all was truly a sight to behold for all golf fans.
Tiger Woods tees off at The Masters in comeback: Golf fans celebrate his return
Given that it’s just over 400 days since his horrific car accident that almost caused him to lose his leg, Woods’ comeback was widely celebrated just for teeing it up at Augusta this week. In short, the first shot in itself was a triumph.

Woods’ tee shot may not have been great and he left his second shot short of the green.
But then we got some classic Tiger Woods performance as he pitched it up below the hole to leave himself a par putt. Naturally, he put it in the bottom of the cup for the save and with him readying for a tournament he’s won five times.
Safe to say, we’re off and running with The Cat and couldn’t be happier that’s the case.
