New York Mets and Washington Nationals fans aren’t even remotely happy with the quality of the MLB broadcast on Apple TV.
The New York Mets and Washington Nationals were two of the first teams to make it on Apple TV (along with the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Angels) and apparently fans aren’t all that impressed with the broadcast.
For those who are unaware, MLB and Apple are breaking out a new broadcast option for baseball fans this season. However, it doesn’t seem like the whole thing is going all that smoothly.
As a whole, people are pretty unhappy about the whole experience.
New York Mets, Washington Nationals fans upset about Apple TV coverage
Folks really aren’t thrilled by the product that they’re getting. The whole deal seems clunky and there are a number of issues that need to be worked out. And of course, fans who would like to at least be remotely familiar with the broadcasters calling the game don’t know who is calling the game.
Any other #mets fans thinking about keeping APPLE TV on mute and putting Howie on instead?

These Apple TV announcers are the worst. Don’t do this to me ever again @mlb pic.twitter.com/tBO0Kxx6FW

Tonight I'll help broadcast the Mets-Nationals game on Apple TV+, the first time I've ever done anything at all like that. Which is, frankly, surreally cool.

When I told my parents about it, my mother — diehard Mets fan — said: "Oh, I hate when it's not Gary, Keith, and Ron."
Ummmm…anyone else’s Apple TV just cut out completely?? #mets

Hey @Mets and @MLB let's not do this apple tv thing again. It's horrible. The announcer are unbearable. Thats assuming I can see/hear them. The stream keeps cutting out and it's not my internet connection. #Mets #MetsVsNationals #AppleTVPlus #horrible

So yeah, it’s not the best first impression that could have been made. It certainly could be much better than what it is. But hey, maybe things will improve and the folks over at Apple TV will figure out how to connect with baseball fans.
Hey @MLB if you’re gonna try and do something different with your broadcasts, maybe instead of putting this trash broadcast on Apple TV that is crashing you should just end blackouts instead.

K? Thanks.

The Apple broadcast booth for this Mets/Nats game is a sin. #unholy

This Apple TV MLB product is the worst broadcast in the history of organized sports. Any level. How is this even possible??? 😂😂

While they’re at it, maybe they’ll find a way to actually get the service to be streamlined and easy to access for more viewers.
But really, it remains to be seen if any of that could happen. It also remains to be seen if baseball fans will give the Apple TV broadcasting crew and the folks behind the scenes a real chance to do that though.
