Pick Analysis. Kellen Diesch. 83. Arizona State. player. 54. Scouting Report. Offensive Tackle

The Philadelphia Eagles, like most teams in the NFL, could use some depth on the offensive line. With this many picks in the draft this season, they should use multiple picks on offensive linemen. It’s hard to pick the very best in the draft this year, but that gives the Eagles an opportunity to find gems later in the draft. They hope they can find one in Kellen Diesch.

The Arizona State offensive lineman struggled to start his college career. He spent four years with the Texas A&M Aggies, but he never became a full-time starter. He transferred to Arizona State and immediately became one of the most dominant linemen in the Pac-12. He only allowed 11 pressures in his career with the Sun Devils, showing he can handle a massive role in a fast-paced offense. Diesch’s quick hands will help the Eagles in the long run, and don’t be surprised if he gets a start or two in his rookie year with how the Eagles luck has been with the offensive line.

54. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Auburn. Zakoby McClaine. Inside Linebacker. 101. player

The Eagles could really revamp a defense that needs a shot of talent in a division that’s in an interesting spot. The NFC East might be winnable for years to come, and if the Eagles can stop teams from scoring with the best of them, then it could be theirs for the taking no matter who is at quarterback. Taking players like Zakoby McClaine could be key in making that happen. He’s someone who can tackle players from anywhere on the field. He gets to the tackle point every single time.

His skill set seems to indicate he should be an inside linebacker. He is reacting to where the play is going, and he makes it there. He could still be an outside linebacker if that’s what the Eagles need from him. McClaine should be available at this point in the draft. His size is questionable, and that might make this a risk for the Eagles in the long run. He has trouble breaking blocks, but he is actually really good at avoiding them. Let’s see if he can do that at the NFL level.
