Tiger Woods returned to Augusta National, the site of his first and most recent major championship. In total, Tiger has won The Masters five times in his Hall of Fame career.

Tiger Woods is back at The Masters where the five-time champion returned to Augusta National with his sights on just making the cut after a lengthy layoff after his car crash that severely injured his leg.

After a long time off the links, Tiger made a harrowing and inspiring comeback to make the cut and play the weekend.

Tiger won’t win The Masters this year after a 6-over round on Saturday to fall off the pace of Scottie Scheffler, but this weekend has been a reminder of just how dominant Tiger has been at Augusta.

How many times has Tiger won The Masters?

Tiger has won The Masters five times.

Tiger won his first Green Jacket in 1997, the first time he entered the tournament as a pro and 3.5 months after his 21st birthday. It was a brilliant showing with Tiger holding a nine-shot lead after 54 holes and winning by 12 strokes over runner-up Tom Kite for a final score of 18-under. That was a glimpse of what was to come for the greatest golfer since Jack Nicklaus.

The second Green Jacket came in 2001 when he took a one-shot lead into the final round. He won by two strokes over David Duval, shooting 16-under par.

Tiger went back-to-back to take the next year when he entered the final round in a tie but beat Retief Goosen by three strokes after shooting a final round 71.

In 2005, Tiger needed a playoff to beat Chris DiMarco who was a fast-charger on Sunday to eat into Tiger’s three-stroke lead entering Sunday to finish 12-under.

Tiger didn’t win The Masters again until 2019, his last major, when he overcame a two-shot deficit to win by one stroke over Dustin Johnson, Xander Schauffele and Brooks Koepka.
