The Alabama Crimson Tide landed a new offensive tackle from the transfer portal.

The Alabama Crimson Tide fell just short of winning the CFP national championship, losing to the Georgia Bulldogs. Much like every year, the program is set to lose its top talent to the NFL Draft, with arguably the best being offensive tackle Evan Neal, a projected Top 5 pick. But, the program has shown its ability to fill vacancies with great talent via recruiting and the transfer portal.

On Tuesday, Vanderbilt offensive tackle Tyler Steen announced that he is transferring to Alabama after entering the portal.

Steen was highly sought after in the transfer portal, as programs like LSU and Kentucky were all looking to add him to their program.

A three-star recruit out of St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, FL., Steen committed to Vanderbilt in 2017. Steen had spent three seasons with the program, and still has two more seasons of eligibility remaining. That is a plus for the Crimson Tide, considering that Steen knows what it’s like to play against defenses in the SEC.

The Crimson Tide may be losing Neal and Chris Owens to the NFL, but they added a player in Steen who can play both left and right tackle. That will certainly be a plus, as the Crimson Tide look to keep Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young upright throughout the 2022 season.
