2022 NFL Mock Draft: New No. 1 overall pick emerges for Jaguars
By Brad Weiss
For the second time across a three-pick span, the New York Giants will be on the clock, as they look to continue to bolster this roster. When all is said and done, the Giants could be a legitimate contender in the NFC East, a division that sees a different team come out on top every single year.
With this pick, the Giants strike gold, bringing in Oregon edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux. This is a kid who could very well be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, so the Giants getting him here is an absolute steal.
The Atlanta Falcons made a huge move this offseason, trading away Matt Ryan to the Indianapolis Colts, and replacing him with Marcus Mariota. That move changes everything when it comes to this offense, as Mariota is a guy who can not only make things happen with his arm but also his legs.
With Mariota under center, the Falcons need to go out and get him some weapons, and they do just that by adding Garrett Wilson from Ohio State. This is a kid who is going to be an immediate playmaker at the next level and would team perfectly with young star tight end, Kyle Pitts.
What an offseason it has been for the Seattle Seahawks, who pulled off a stunning trade, sending Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. That trade netted them the No. 9 overall pick in this year’s draft, a pick they use along the offensive line in our latest mock.
The pick here at No. 9 overall is Ikem Ekwonu, who some feel is the best overall offensive lineman in this draft class. If the Seahawks are going to roll with Drew Lock at quarterback, he needs protection, and they get an elite player here.
The No. 10 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft belongs to the New York Jets, who have already bolstered their roster at No. 4. With the fourth pick, New York added a defensive player in Aidan Hutchinson, and here at No. 10 overall, they go out and get a weapon for the offensive side of the ball.
Zach Wilson has yet to prove he is a legitimate QB1 at the NFL level, but bringing in a player like Drake London from USC can help him do just that. London has tremendous size, is a downright playmaker, and if he produces, would be the best Jets wideout from USC since Keyshawn Johnson.
