2022 NFL Mock Draft: New No. 1 overall pick emerges for Jaguars

Like it or not, the Washington Commanders will roll with Carson Wentz as their starting quarterback in 2022, and it will be interesting to see if he can turn his career around. The Commanders have a win-now defense, so getting some consistent play from the quarterback could go a long way for them in the NFC East next season.
To get the most out of Wentz, the Commanders need to make sure the defense continues to do what they do best, and that is put the offense in plus territory. Cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. is going to be a playmaker at the next level and could be the best corner in Washington that we have seen in quite some time.
The Minnesota Vikings are a team to watch in the NFC North next season, especially with all the losses on the Green Bay Packers roster this offseason. Kirk Cousins will be back under center in 2022 and is looking to prove that he can lead his team to the Promised Land, or at least win in the playoffs.
With this pick, the No. 12 overall selection, Minnesota goes defensive, getting someone who fills a big void on their roster in Jordan Davis. The interior of the defensive line in Minnesota needs a lot of help, and Davis should be a tremendous run-stuffer and a disrupter in the backfield.
The No. 13 overall pick used to belong to the Cleveland Browns, but that was before the Houston Texans traded quarterback Deshaun Watson to them. Now, the Texans hold this pick, their second of the first half of the first round, and they stay on the defensive here.
After adding cornerback Sauce Gardner at pick No. 3 overall, they get an elite pass rusher here at No. 13 overall in Jermaine Johnson. Based on mock drafts, Johnson could be one of the first two edge rushers off the board, but if not, landing in Houston gives them possibly their next elite edge rusher in the mold of JJ Watt.
When all is said and done, I believe the Baltimore Ravens are a team that is going to be the last one standing in the AFC North, and that is saying something. The AFC North just sent a team to the Super Bowl and has multiple playoff contenders, but the Ravens could be the one to represent the AFC in the title game this year.
Picking at No. 14 overall, the Ravens bolster their defensive line, bringing in Devonte Wyatt from Georgia. There are not a ton of holes on this roster, but defensive tackle is one of them, and Wyatt is big and strong enough to start right away as a rookie.
