Panthers wide receiver Robby Anderson wants nothing to do with Baker Mayfield
By Mark Powell
Despite being a popular choice as a potential landing spot for Baker Mayfield, Panthers wideout Robby Anderson wants nothing to do with the QB.
Despite Ian Rapoport proclaiming that the Panthers could be the top potential landing spot for Mayfield, one of the top weapons Carolina has to offer wants nothing to do with the former No. 1 pick.
Carolina are expected to be the first team to select a quarterback in April’s NFL Draft. They have the sixth pick for a reason, and Sam Darnold is not the answer. Carolina has a few trade options should they opt to pass on the likes of Malik Willis and Kenny Pickett, such as Mayfield and Jimmy Garoppolo.
Anderson, however, would rather them steer clear of Mayfield entirely.
laid out the exchange in its entirety:
"“Panthers.way on Instagram posted Rapoport’s lean, and Panthers wide receiver Robby Anderson commented “Nooooo.” That wasn’t all, as the same Instagram account posted another picture saying Anderson doesn’t want Mayfield to come to Carolina. Anderson again commented saying, “Facts.”"
Panthers: Robby Anderson against Baker Mayfield trade
Anderson doesn’t have much to worry about, as the Panthers aren’t expected to trade for Mayfield, per ESPN’s David Newton.
Rather than trading for another middling quarterback, Carolina would be better served drafting their own superstar in the making.
As of now, that seems to be the plan.
