London rivals duke it out as Chelsea and Crystal palace play in the FA Cup semifinals on Sunday afternoon.
As Chelsea still look for a new owner, they have some business to take care of against a rising Crystal Palace club. The Blues, who sit third on the EPL table as compared to the Eagles’ 13th place, are favored to reach the final for good reason.
But the pending sale has served as a distraction, especially since the Ricketts’ family pulled out just days ago.
As for Palace, England international Conor Gallagher will be missing from the starting 11, marking a rather severe hole in their lineup. However, Gallagher is on loan from Chelsea, and there is a clause in his contract that he cannot play in games against his parent club.
“He has played all the games so far,” head coach Patrick Vieira said. “And if there’s somebody who deserves to be in the semi-final, it’s him because of his performances, so I’m disappointed he won’t be able to play.”
