2. Phillips Valdez

He’s pitched in 3.2 innings in three games. He’s walked one and struck out seven in his outings.

He depends on a changeup, slider and a sinker. The sinker averages 94.2 mph with a 23.9-inch vertical drop and an active spin of 98 percent. The slider averages 83 mph with a 34.8-inch and active spin of 38 percent. The changeup averages 87.3 mph with a 32.3-inch vertical drop and an active spin of 90 percent.

The 30-year-old has 1.16 yrs of service time in the MLB and has one minor league option left. He has spent some time in the minor leagues with Cleveland, the Washington Nationals and the Texas Rangers.

Valdez will likely get sent back to the minors to get some more work in on his pitches and get some innings.
