Kevin Durant explains Celtics’ defense: ‘two or three guys hitting me’
Kevin Durant has not been his best offensively in the first two games of the Brooklyn Nets-Boston Celtics series. He explained why.
Kevin Durant has not been himself lately and he credits that to the Boston Celtics defense. The Brooklyn Nets are now 0-2 after losing Game 2 last night 114-107.
Despite a solid night from Bruce Brown and Seth Curry, the Nets’ main stars could not seem to get it going. In Game 1, Kyrie Irving was great, he scored 30 points. But Durant only managed to score 23 points, on 9-of-24 shooting. In Game 2, Durant’s shooting woos continued. He shot 4-of-17 from the field and his 27 points mainly came from free throws. Irving on the other hand was limited to just 10 points.
During Durant’s postgame interview, he talked about his struggles offensively.
Kevin Durant: "They're playing me with 2, 3 guys sometimes when I'm off the ball, mucking up actions when I run off stuff. I see Horford leaving this man and come over to hit me sometime. They're just playing two or three guys hitting me wherever I go." #nets #celtics

Could Kevin Durant and the Nets figure it out in Brooklyn?
The series is now shifting to Brooklyn and even though the Nets are in an 0-2 hole, fans should not count them out just yet. Durant is bound to have a 30-point game at some point. It is very unlikely that Durant will allow his team to get swept. Teams tend to perform better on their home court, feeding off of the crowd’s energy. Coming home could be just what the Nets need to get a win.
