Khris Middleton injury update: Recovery time for sprained MCL

The Milwaukee Bucks saw Khris Middleton leave Game 2 of their first-round series against the Chicago Bulls with a sprained MCL.

The 2022 NBA Playoffs has seen some big moments in the early goings of the first round. Yet, there have been some injuries to big stars, such as Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns and now, Khris Middleton of the Milwaukee Bucks.

During Milwaukee’s Game 2 114-110 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Apr. 20, Khris Middleton left the game with an apparent injury to his left leg. After the game, Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer revealed that Middleton suffered a sprained MCL in his left knee.

Middleton underwent an MRI on Thursday, Apr. 21 to reveal the severity of the injury. So how much time is the Bucks star expected to miss?

ESPN senior NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Middleton will be re-evaluated in the next two weeks, which means that he will be out for the remainder of Milwaukee’s first-round series against Chicago.

The aforementioned injury happened in the fourth quarter, where Middleton slipped when driving towards the basket. Middleton eventually left for the locker room.

Sadly, this was not the only injury that the Bucks suffered in Game 2. Bobby Portis was struck in the eye by Tristan Thompson’s elbow in the first half, leaving him bloodied. Portis was ruled out for the remainder of the game with what the team called a right eye abrasion. It is unknown if Portis will miss any time.
