Stetson Bennett checks in from the cockpit in the Georgia football star’s latest Instagram post.

Georgia football starting quarterback Stetson Bennett is ready to enter the Danger Zone in his latest Instagram post.

Fresh off a strong showing in the Dawgs’ spring game, Bennett briefly traded in his Georgia helmet for one belonging to the Blue Angels. Bennett may have one year of collegiate eligibility left, but he has his eyes set on something bigger than even the NFL could ever hope to offer. “The Mailman” has the need for speed, as he looks the part of the Pete “Maverick” Mitchell at Top Gun.

If there was ever time for The Redcoats to learn Kenny Loggins’ symphonic masterpiece, they have until Labor Day.

While Bennett has as good of a chance as anyone to be as good, if not better, than Miles Teller in the much-anticipated sequel, he has a national championship to defend. Look for Bennett and offensive coordinator Todd Monken to 14 personnel the SEC to death this fall. But after this upcoming college season, Bennett will have a choice to make: Go Top Gun or keep on playing ball.

Surely, Bennett will at least get looked at by NFL teams because of his leadership traits, mobility and underrated passing game. However, he is undersized and may only be Georgia’s version of Ian Book. Then again, if Book can get drafted in day three, so can “The Mailman”. In the meantime, he will be playing with the boys, flexing more profoundly than Cruise checking his sacred timepiece.

Ultimately, this is a photo-op and nothing more. Let’s be real. If you had the opportunity to sit in the cockpit of a Blue Angels jet on the tarmac, you would do it. Simply, Bennett is winning at life. Not only is he the greatest resident from Blackshear, Georgia ever, but the top-tier Raising Cane’s global ambassador is about to embark on the highway to the Danger Zone this college season.

Denying Sanford Stadium a sweet rendition of Danger Zone is like forgetting to play Baba O’Riley.
