What time does the Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte fight start?
Start time for the WBC heavyweight title boxing fight between champion Tyson Fury and challenger Dillian Whyte
This weekend will see the in-ring return of arguably the best heavyweight in boxing today, as Tyson Fury defends the WBC and The Ring heavyweight championships against Dillian Whyte in an all-British clash as the main event of a card at Wembley Stadium in London, England, on April 23.
Fury, who has never lost as a professional boxer, with his only blemish being a draw on his record, has teased this could be his final fight.
Fury won the WBC heavyweight championship in his second outing with Deontay Wilder, stopping him in the seventh round of their February 2020 encounter. The two competed in a rematch in October, with Fury knocking out Wilder in the 11th round.
Fury previously claimed the WBA (Super), IBF and WBO heavyweight titles in November 2015 with a massive upset over Wladimir Klitschko. He didn’t defend those titles, however. The IBF stripped him mere days later for not accepting their mandatory challenger, while he’d vacate the other belts due to mental health and addiction struggles.
This will be the first major world title shot for Whyte, who has been in the top contender picture for the WBC for years. Whyte won the interim WBC heavyweight title with a unanimous decision over Oscar Rivas in July 2019. He’d lose the interim belt in a fifth-round knockout loss to Alexander Povetkin in August 2020 but regained the title by stopping Povetkin in four rounds in March 2021.
