Eloy Jimenez injury: Byron Buxton shows support for Jimenez after injury
This is solid sportsmanship that should be highlighted on a regular basis. Moments like this are great to see and it’s encouraging to see this sort of connection. It’s disappointing that Jimenez is hurt and that this is yet another injury that the White Sox are having to deal with.
That said, there might be a glimmer of hope in the midst of all this. Right now, it’s not totally clear how long Jimenez will be sidelined, but it doesn’t currently appear as if he will be out for the remainder of the year.
As James Fegan points out on Twitter, Tony La Russa is hopeful that Jimenez won’t be out for the rest of the season.
So, they’re hopeful. That’s good. The injury itself sucks and the recovery isn’t going to be any fun, but maybe Jimenez will be able to get back on the field some time this year.
