While they may be far apart in the standings, Liverpool and Everton hate each other to the bitter core. The Merseyside Derby is one of the most historic rivalries in EPL.

As Manchester City and the Reds fight for the top of the EPL standings, Jurgen Klopp and Co. will have to notch three points against a familiar foe in their friends over at Goodison Park, who sit at 17th on the table with just 29 points.

In terms of talent level, the former surely have the edge — but the Merseyside Derby isn’t just about wins and losses. The history involved makes it a far greater deal to the fans than it will ever be for some players.
