Watch: Yankees fans boo Myles Straw in first AB after he called them ‘classless’
New York Yankees fans let Cleveland’s Myles Straw have it on Sunday after he called them totally classless.
There was a terrible scene at Yankee Stadium on Saturday, as New York fans decided to throw garbage and beer cans at Cleveland players after the Gleyber Torres walk-off. It was awful to see for everyone involved.
Guardians outfielder Myles Straw was in the middle of everything, truly disgusted with the fans’ behavior. Straw went on to call the Yankee supporters classless. For his first plate appearance on Sunday, the people on hand showered him with boos, which isn’t a shocker.
The beef between Myles Straw and Yankees fans has continued
Straw voiced just how furious he was with the people in the Bronx on Saturday. This all came after people were mocking Steven Kwan after he injured himself trying to make a catch in the bottom of the ninth inning.
Straw was furious with this and even climbed the wall to let people know how upset he was. Then, all hell broke loose when Torres hit his walk-off. Yankees fans erupted in celebration, but plenty of people decided to turn their focus to Straw and Oscar Mercado, throwing objects at them.
This of course infuriated the outfielder. Yankee players ran over to try and defuse the situation, but the damage was done. Since then, Twitter has been blasting New York fans for how they behaved. Straw let it known he doesn’t care for the group, which is understandable.
Moving forward, it looks like the drama between those in the Bronx and Straw won’t be coming to a close anytime soon. Whenever Straw visits Yankee Stadium, he should expect to hear more boos, but those fans who threw beers at him need to wake up and make better decisions as well.
