2022 NFL Mock Draft: Edge rushers dominate our final edition
By Brad Weiss
The Tennessee Titans have become a franchise that has really improved under head coach Mike Vrabel, and it seems every year they are a Super Bowl contender. Last year, despite losing star running back Derrick Henry for a chunk of the season, they still took down the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC, a testament to this coaching staff.
While the defense improved in a big way this offseason, there is still work to be done, and that includes adding Devin Lloyd here at pick No. 26 overall. Lloyd is the best linebacker in this draft class, and you have to think a former linebacker in Vrabel loves what he sees on tape.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got Tom Brady to end his ‘long’ retirement, and now go into the 2022 NFL Draft as a team to watch in the NFC. Anytime you have Brady as your quarterback you are going to be a problem, and there is a real chance Rob Gronkowski comes back and joins his buddy for another go-around.
Picking at No. 27 overall, the Buccaneers should turn their focus to the defense, and they do so by adding Clemson cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. Booth should be healthy enough to help this team in Year 1, bolstering one of the weaker areas of this Bucs roster.
The Green Bay Packers hold two first round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft, this after trading away Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders. With that pick, they went offensive lineman, and here at No. 28, the pick they earned, they add a playmaker on the outside for Aaron Rodgers.
Yes, the Packers finally do it, drafting a wide receiver in the first round to put a big smile on Rodgers’ face. Jahan Dotson has played in cold weather before, is a playmaker in the red zone, and will be outstanding in this Packers offense.
