New England Patriots draft picks 2022: Selections for every round
The New England Patriots have some core pieces in place but need to rejuvenate their roster in the 2022 NFL Draft with their picks.
After Tom Brady moved on, the New England Patriots did the same in last year’s draft as they used their first-round pick on quarterback Mac Jones out of Alabama. But now that they have him in place, the job becomes making sure the roster around him is in a position where they can win long term.
The Patriots saw some key departures this offseason with J.C. Jackson leaving the secondary. More importantly, New England’s defensive roster, which is largely their strength, has started to age a bit at some key spots. That’s a concern. And let’s not forget that the wide receiver corps needs some serious work.
Now, let’s take a look at the nine draft picks that the Patriots own going into the 2022 NFL Draft that they will use to address these various needs.

The wide receiver group should be an early priority for the Patriots, and so too should be the case for the secondary after the departure of several players along with some aging pieces as well. Belichick and New England typically move to the beat of their own drum in the draft, so we’ll be glued to seeing what tune they’re playing this year.
