NFL Twitter reacted to the Jacksonville Jaguars selecting Georgia Bulldogs edge rusher Travon Walker with the first-overall pick.
There was much debate as to what the Jacksonville Jaguars would do with the first-overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Would they select the top prospect in the class in Michigan edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson? Or would they take one of the top offensive linemen in the draft to protect quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
Commissioner Roger Goodell approached the podium in Las Vegas, and announced that the Jaguars have selected Georgia defensive lineman Travon Walker with the first-overall pick.
NFL Twitter reacted to the news of Walker being the newest member of the Jaguars. He even received some love from Jaguars running back Travon Walker.

Great pick for the @Jaguars. Travon Walker is a freak of nature.

Don’t be fooled by the stats, he wasn’t always asked to rush at Georgia. When he’s unleashed in the NFL, he’s going to be a force. He has Myles Garrett potential.
Well that's the last we'll hear about Travon Walker. #Jags

Bruh, Travon Walker’s celebration had to be the mildest 1st overall pick celebration ever. They must’ve told my man 2 weeks ago! 😂😂😂

Travon Walker might be the best DE. I’m still not sure he’s the best Georgia Bulldog.

Travon Walker is the first #1 overall pick from Georgia since Super Bowl LVI Champion Matthew Stafford in 2009.

Not sure anyone saw this coming before the combine. But it is reality now. Congrats Travon Walker

Travon Walker makes history for Georgia
With Walker going first overall, the Georgia Bulldogs made history in the process. Georgia has now tied USC, Notre Dame and Oklahoma for the most first-overall selections in NFL Draft history.

Walker was part of the vaunted Bulldogs defense. In three seasons, Walker recorded 61 total tackles (13 for loss), 9.5 sacks, three defended passes, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one interception.
Once the pre-draft process began, Walker skyrocketed up draft boards after a phenomenal performance at the Scouting Combine. He obviously caught the attention of the Jaguars, and he is now set to begin his NFL career down in Duval County.
