Travon Walker has just become the second most famous Walker in Georgia football history behind only Herschel Walker.

By going No. 1 overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars, former Georgia football star Travon Walker has officially become the second most famous Dawg Walker of all time, behind only Herschel Walker.

Travon Walker becomes the first Georgia player to go No. 1 overall in an NFL Draft since quarterback Matthew Stafford went No. 1 overall to the Detroit Lions in the 2009 NFL Draft. Though Herschel Walker initially played in the USFL, he made a name for himself in the NFL most notably with the Dallas Cowboys in the late 1980s. So are these two Dawg Walkers even related?

They may be Georgia football brethren, but no, these two Georgia Walkers are not in fact related.

Travon Walker: Is he related to Georgia football legend Herschel Walker?

Though these two Walkers have a lot in common, they are not related by blood. What does tie them together is they played integral roles in the two most recent national championship at the alma mater. Herschel Walker was a freshman during the 1980 college football season, while Travon Walker was a rotational defensive lineman as an upperclassmen just last football season.

Though Travon Walker has massive expectations to help transform the Jaguars defense, he goes to a franchise that has a Super Bowl-winning head coach in Doug Pederson and the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck in Trevor Lawrence. This is a multi-year rebuild down in Duval County, but one that Walker looks to be an important part of for the Jaguars organization.

Congratulations on being the first overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, you Georgia football Dawg!
