The Kansas City Chiefs looked to the 2022 NFL Draft to address some needs. Here are the best choices Kansas City made during the draft.

During the 2022 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs went out and made some intriguing picks. Fans are definitely going to have opinions about who the Chiefs ended up picking, but that’s pretty much always the case with any decision any team makes at any point ever.

While not every pick or every pick out of every draft is going to go perfectly for any team, it’s fairly safe to say that the well-run franchises in the NFL are typically able to navigate through and generally have more success in the draft.

As it turns out, the Chiefs happen to be a pretty good franchise and they had a pretty good time finding players in this year’s draft.

Here are the best decisions made by the Chiefs during the 2022 NFL Draft.

2022 NFL Draft: Ranking the Kansas City Chiefs’ best NFL Draft decisions

No. 3: Drafting Trent McDuffie

While many think the Chiefs may not have needed to trade up to get a solid defensive back in the first round this year, Kansas City found a solid cornerback in Trent McDuffie. During his time with the Washington Huskies, McDuffie proved that he could be pretty proficient at recording tackles. He only picked off a couple passes, but McDuffie racked up 94 tackles, including 4.5 tackles for loss and a sack. The biggest knock here would be trading up, and many will find issue with that, but Chiefs could use a decent corner and it appears as if they may have found one.

No. 2: Drafting George Karlaftis

The Chiefs’ second pick of the first round was a good bit better than their first and it definitely was enough to get Kansas City fans happier on the first day of the draft. The Chiefs didn’t need to trade up to make this pick possible and they got a defensive lineman who had a solid career with the Purdue Boilermakers. Karlaftis went out and tallied 97 total tackles and had 14 sacks during his career.

No. 1: Drafting Skyy Moore

Getting a dynamic playmaker for Patrick Mahomes was pretty important for the Chiefs and they may have just done that with a phenomenal draft pick in Skyy Moore. Throughout his collegiate career, Moore made all sorts of impressive plays. In his final season, Moore caught 95 passes for 1,292 yards and 10 touchdowns. In total during his career, Moore caught 171 passes for 2,482 yards and 16 touchdowns. He’s definitely someone to keep an eye on as the Chiefs move forward.
