Injury concerns led to former Georgia football star linebacker Nakobe Dean falling in the draft, but Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman does not see this as a big deal at all.

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman did his best to quell any injury concerns regarding his team’s No. 84 overall pick in former Georgia linebacker Nakobe Dean.

It was a major hot-button topic during the first two nights of the 2022 NFL Draft. Dean won the Butkus Award as arguably the best defensive player on the defending national champions, the Georgia Bulldogs. He may be undersized, but his intangibles are off the charts. Of course, Dean’s decision to decline offseason shoulder surgery was a major red flag for many teams who were initially hoping to select him.

Roseman anticipates Dean will be a full participant in the Eagles’ rookie mini camp and does not expect his new third-round pick to be going under the knife any time soon.

Eagles: Howie Roseman does not see Nakobe Dean’s injury issues as a concern

Dean was a unanimous All-American as part of one of the best front-sevens the college football world has ever seen. He may only be 5-foot-11 and 225 pounds, but Dean is an incredibly instinctive player. Unbelievably, he is now draft classmates with Georgia’s other unanimous All-American of that championship defense in defensive tackle Jordan Davis, who went No. 13 overall to Philadelphia.

Together, the Eagles have landed two of the most accomplished Georgia players in recent memory. The duo has elite football chemistry, hoping to bring the City of Brotherly Love a second Super Bowl before the end of their rookie contracts. While other Georgia stars came flying off the draft board this weekend, Dean and Davis are the two guys Dawg Nation will forever be raving about.

As far as seeing injury concerns rear their ugly head during Dean’s tenure in Philadelphia, this is the NFL. The injury rate playing the game of football is 100 percent. Though he may not have an incredibly long career playing professionally, Dean 1,000 percent has that necessary dog in him to be a champion. He has the chance to be the steal of the entire NFL Draft.

While other teams were out on Dean, all it took is for one like the Eagles to fall in love with him.
