Conor McGregor reacts to Katie Taylor win

Irishman and former UFC double-champion, Conor McGregor, congratulates Katie Taylor on win.
Conor McGregor is no stranger to big fights. The former UFC two-division champion has been through several title fights over the course of his career, including becoming the UFC’s first simultaneous world champ in the featherweight and lightweight divisions.
Similar to McGregor, Katie Taylor got her moment in the sun as well. In a 10-round boxing war against a Puerto Rican legend against Amanda Serrano, Taylor ground out a hard-fought, yet controversial decision.
That’s when McGregor took to Twitter to congratulate the six-division world champion, as Ireland has another belt holder once again.
“Katie Taylor The Greatest! Absolutely incredible boxing!
Take a bow ladies! What a contest,” McGregor wrote post-fight.
At press time, the tweet is quickly gaining worldwide attention, as it has eclipsed 1,000 retweets and 12,000 likes since it was sent out.
A Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano rematch is a possibility
Don’t rule out Taylor-Serrano 2. Both women posed the question during the post-fight in-ring interviews, and they mutually agreed that it would make a lot of sense. Though nothing is official, given Taylor’s popularity in Ireland, Eddie Hearn and Jake Paul shared encouraging words about a timetable regarding a rematch. Both men will look to target September or October for round 11, if all goes their way.
”Let’s run it back in Ireland,” Paul said. Hearn is open to hosting the fight at Croke Park in Dublin during the early Fall months.
Hearn also complimented both women despite his fighter picking up the victory.
“You just saw one of the greatest fights in the history of Madison Square Garden,” he said during the post-fight interview.
It’s safe to assume that Taylor and Serrano captivated the world, and those who believed women’s boxing wouldn’t become mainstream were proven wrong with one electrifying main event in New York City.
