. TE. New York Giants. Michael Mayer. 7. player. 31

The New York Giants are hoping that a new regime can finally get this franchise back on track, and they will do so with Daniel Jones under center again in 2022. The thing is, the Giants also declined his fifth-year option, so if he struggles again this season, you could be looking at another signal-caller in the Big Apple.

Going on the assumption that Brian Daboll can turn his career around, the Giants instead get Jones a playmaker, adding Notre Dame tight end Michael Mayer. This is a kid who has Kyle Pitts-potential and should be the first player at his position off the board.

Tanner McKee. 8. player. 36. . QB. Seattle Seahawks

One of the biggest moves in the NFL landscape this offseason was the Seattle Seahawks trading away Russell Wilson. To trade away a legend in his prime may not make much sense right now, and if Drew Lock struggles in 2022, it is going to look like an absolute joke.

Luckily for the Seahawks, the trade brought a wealth of draft picks, and with pick No. 8 overall in our mock, they get Wilson’s long-term replacement. Nobody really believes Lock is the guy for the Seahawks down the road, but Tanner McKee, who plays at Stanford, could be the answer.

. CB. Washington Commanders. Cam Smith. 9. player. 58

The Washington Commanders filled a lot of the holes on their roster during the 2022 NFL Draft, including bringing in a potential franchise quarterback. Sam Howell was a fifth-round selection of the team, and while that is late, he was viewed as one of the top-5 signal-callers coming out this year.

In 2023, the Commanders may look to add to their defensive backfield in the first round, and Cam Smith could end up being the best cornerback in this draft class. He has All-Pro potential at a premium position, and with another tremendous season in the SEC, should be a top-10 pick.

DE. Chicago Bears. Myles Murphy. 10. player. 57.

The Chicago Bears have long been built on their defense, but the hope is that with Justin Fields entering Year 2, the offense can take the next step forward. During the 2022 NFL Draft, Chicago revamped their secondary, and in 2023, they should look to address the talent coming off the edge.

One player who could sneak all the way up to the top-5 is Myles Murphy, who some liken to Georgia star Travon Walker, who was the No. 1 overall pick in 2022. Murphy would be an excellent complement to Robert Quinn coming off the edge.
