The Arch Manning recruiting saga is far from ending but it looks like the Georgia Bulldogs and Texas Longhorns are at the front of the field.
The No. 1 prospect in the class of 2023 continues to draw attention from some of the biggest programs out there. Only one can claim Arch Manningās signature in the end.
While Manning is still keeping things close to the vest, reporting now suggests heās looking more closely at two specific schools.
Will it be Georgia or Texas? Thatās the thing everyone wants to know.
Arch Manning recruiting race: Georgia and Texas stand out
Chad Simmons of On3 wrote that Alabama, Georgia and Texas are getting the most attention right now butĀ āthere has been a little more chatter around the Bulldogs and Longhorns in recent weeks.ā
Manningās relationship with Kirby Smart and Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken is strong. At the same tie, Steve Sarkisian is a draw for Texas along with the opportunity to bring the Longhorns back.
The downside for Georgia is that Monken doesnāt have a long history of developing quarterbacks. For Texas, the concern could be the presence of highly-touted quarterback Quinn Ewers, who could delay Manningās path to starting.
Manning has visited the Crimson Tide, Bulldogs and Longhorns while also considering Ole Miss among others.
Alabamaās current status in the race for Manning may be related to recent developments surrounding Eli Holstein, a four-star quarterback out of Louisiana. Holstein was just predicted to sign with the Crimson Tide by 247Sports Alabama Insider Hank South.
Attracting Holstein definitely doesnāt eliminate Manning. If it was a one-or-the-other situation, Manning would definitely get the nod.
