Real Madrid looked dead to rights in the Champions League semifinal against Manchester City but an unbelievable late surge sent soccer fans into a frenzy.

Whenever Riyad Mahrez found the back of the net for Manchester City on Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabéu, it seemed as if the home side’s chances of reaching the Champions League final were toast. Real Madrid trailed 5-3 on aggregate and looked in too big of a hole to escape.

Instead, the Spanish side had more magic in the arsenal.

It started when Rodrygo gave Real Madrid new life as he found the back of the net off a great ball in front from Karim Benzema. But it was Rodrygo who really delivered the fireworks again when he sent a header into the net to level the score on aggregate and make it a shocking 2-1 on the day.
