Jarvis Landry can become Aaron Rodgers’ new favorite safety valve in the slot

Even though the Packers used their No. 34 overall pick wide receiver Christian Watson out of North Dakota State in the early hours of last Friday evening, there are no guarantees he will be a success at the professional. Though all signs point towards him being successful with the Packers, it would serve Green Bay to sign a guarantee at possession receiver in the form of Jarvis Landry.

For years, Landry has been one of the most underrated receivers in the NFL. Despite catching everything thrown his way, the five-time Pro Bowler never seems to get his due. This may have something to do with him playing in dysfunctional situations since turning pro, first with the Miami Dolphins and most recently with the Cleveland Browns. Green Bay is not those two places.

While the Packers will have one of the best running back tandems in football in Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillion, as well as the two-time reigning MVP under center in Aaron Rodgers, what happens when it is third-and-6 and Green Bay needs to move the sticks? Landry will do what he does for years and get open between the hash marks to help continue put his team in position to succeed.

A high-end possession receiver like Landry could be exactly what the Packers offense is missing.
