With the 2022 NFL Draft over with and done, look for the following prophecies to unfold, regarding all things Cleveland Browns football.
To say Cleveland has had a noisy offseason would be a gross understatement. Though the Browns have had a rough go of it since coming back into the league as an expansion team in 1999, good news seems to be on the horizon for this AFC contending club. If all goes well for the Browns, they may be a playoff team in 2022. More importantly, Cleveland will totally be one by the end of 2023.
Here are three things with the Browns that will absolutely be coming true this football season.
Cleveland Browns: 3 offseason predictions after the 2022 NFL Draft
3. Cleveland Browns will run over everyone with Jerome Ford like an F-150
While the ongoing quarterback situation will sort itself out at some point down the line, in the meantime, Kevin Stefanski will be going 13 personnel and running the football down the opposition’s throats with one punishing run between the tackles after another. With Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt already being excellent, they will be joined by another beast in Jerome Ford.
People might have heard of Ford from his days helping transform the Cincinnati Bearcats into the greatest Group of Five institution the college football world has ever known. However, he wasn’t always pounding the rock for Luke Fickell in Cincinnati. Ford initially played his ball for Nick Saban at Tuscaloosa. Looks like the Dawg Pound got themselves another dog in the Cleveland backfield.
Even if the wins will not come as easily as they probably should, Cleveland will quickly establish an offensive identity this year with an unencumbered Stefanski calling the shots. This team may not lead the league in points scored, but the Browns will make the other team have to work on every single possession. Ford will diesel through the tackle box like an F-150 carrying all of the gravel.
Expect the Browns to have one of the better run-centric offenses throughout the entire NFL.
