WWE fans reacted to Ronda Rousey defeating Charlotte Flair in an “I Quit” match to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania Backlash.

WWE’s premium live event, WrestleMania Backlash, featured one title match, and it was for the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey faced off in a WrestleMania rematch, but this time, it was in an “I Quit” match. Of course, the only way to win is to force your opponent to say “I Quit.”

At the event on Sunday, May 8, Rousey defeated Flair to win the SmackDown Women’s Championship for the first time in her career. Rousey picked up the win after trapping Flair’s arm in a steel chair and locking in an armbar, forcing the now-former champion to say “I Quit.”

Twitter users who were watching WrestleMania Backlash reacted to Rousey ending Flair’s 198-day title reign.

Flair and Rousey both competed at WrestleMania 38 Night 1 by way of the former UFC star winning the Women’s Royal Rumble match back in January. Rousey seemingly had the match won, but the referee was knocked out following a spear by Flair. As Rousey tried to revive the referee, Flair hit Rousey with a big boot to win.

The rematch was set for WrestleMania Backlash, but this time with the “I Quit” match stipulation. There were numerous spots, such as Rousey putting an armbar on Flair by hanging over the top rope and Flair putting Rousey in the Figure-8 leg lock. But ultimately, it was Rousey who was victorious with the armbar through a steel chair.

After the match, Kayla Braxton revealed that Flair had “suffered a fracture of the radius” as a result of the final armbar from Rousey.

For the first time since 2019, Ronda Rousey is a WWE Women’s Champion.
