Green Bay Packers 2022 NFL schedule: 5 must-win games
By Scott Rogust
The Green Bay Packers look to end their 2022 season better than 2021. Here are five must-win games for the Packers this upcoming season.
The Green Bay Packers had the best record in the entire NFL last season. They had Aaron Rodgers play at an NFL MVP-winning level for the second-year in a row. That was supposed to be the year where the Packers could return to the Super Bowl. Instead, they lost 13-10 to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round.
This offseason, Green Bay moved on from wide receiver Davante Adams, which will certainly make things interesting. Luckily for them, they are in a very winnable NFC, especially compared to how difficult it will be to make it out of the AFC.
The team knows who they will be playing in 2022, but will find out the exact order of events on Thursday, May 12. Here are five games the Packers must win.
Minnesota Vikings/Chicago Bears
The Packers can make it to the playoffs by winning the NFC North. Even with how the offseason has progressed thus far, they are still the team to beat over the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears. Green Bay needs to put up a winning record in the division. Anything less will be a massive disappointment.
Dallas Cowboys
It is once again the time where Green Bay meets the Dallas Cowboys. That means football fans could be in store for a competitive game, as they usually are when the two teams battle against each other.
Ever year, there is talk about how it is finally the year where the Cowboys can make a run to the Super Bowl. This is a must-win game for the Packers because they can single-handedly quiet the noise coming out of Dallas.
Los Angeles Rams
Beating the reigning Super Bowl champions is never a bad thing, especially since they reside in the conference.
The Los Angeles Rams finally won the Lombardi Trophy for the first time since 1999 after their efforts of buying in finally paid off. They may have had some departures like Von Miller, Andrew Whitworth and Robert Woods, but they did add Bobby Wagner and Allen Robinson to the roster.
Green Bay picking up a huge win against Los Angeles will make for a huge confidence boost.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Since Tom Brady joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Packers have not had any luck against the NFC South squad. In 2020, Green Bay was blown out 38-10 in the regular-season and lost 31-26 in the NFC Championship Game that year. Of course, the Buccaneers went on to win Super Bowl 55 that year.
Brady is back after a very brief retirement, Todd Bowles is the new head coach, and the team is relatively the same. Green Bay needs to finally pick up a victory against Brady while he is still in Tampa Bay.
Buffalo Bills
Beating one of the top teams in the AFC is a necessity for the Packers if they want to climb up the power rankings. The Buffalo Bills showed they can be a contender in the AFC for the foreseeable future after their incredible performance against the Kansas City Chiefs in the Divisional Round last year.
Josh Allen is in his prime and solidified his status as a Top 5 quarterback in the league. Watching him battle against Rodgers will be fun. Green Bay needs to defeat Buffalo to make a statement.
