Even though the Kansas City Chiefs are waiting for their 2022 schedule, they know who their opponents will be. Here are five games that are must-win for the Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs were close to reaching the Super Bowl for the third-consecutive season last year. Yet, quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw a costly interception in overtime of the AFC Championship Game, allowing the Cincinnati Bengals to kick the game-winning field goal to clinch their spot in Super Bowl 56.

Kansas City will look to get another chance at competing for the Lombardi Trophy in 2022, even after having departures such as wide receiver Tyreek Hill and safety Tyrann Mathieu. Much like the other 31 franchises in the NFL, the Chiefs are waiting to find out their exact schedule for the 2022 season. Even so, they already know who their opponents will be.

Here are five must-win games.

5. Denver Broncos

Previously the Chiefs have had tremendous success against the Denver Broncos. In fact, they have not lost to Denver since Week 2 of the 2015 season. That was two years before Kansas City even drafted Mahomes in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft!

Yet, this is not the same Broncos team that has struggled to find a quarterback to succeed Peyton Manning. Last year, they tried to make a run with Teddy Bridgewater under center, but it did not work out. So this offseason, the Broncos pulled off a blockbuster trade to acquire Russell Wilson from the Seattle Seahawks.

Wilson is one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in the league, due to his ability to escape pressure and create plays. Not to mention that he will have some quality pass-catchers to target downfield in Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy and Tim Patrick.

Add Denver’s new offense with an offensive-minded head coach in Nathaniel Hackett and their quality defense, they will be a much tougher foe for the Chiefs than in years past. Despite this, the Chiefs must pick up a win against Denver.
