Russell Wilson will begin his first season with a new team in a very familiar place on Monday Night Football.

The NFL schedule release is gifting fans with teasers for this upcoming season. While the games still need to be played — and won’t be played for four months — the release of the schedule is like a movie trailer hyping up whatever big blockbuster release we’re all looking forward to.

Fans won’t have to wait long for the first big blockbuster event of the season.

According to Denver beat writer Vic Lombardi, the Broncos will open the season against the Seahawks in Seattle on Monday Night Football. That means Russell Wilson will begin the season where the last one ended, except he’ll be on the other sideline for the first time ever.

NFL Schedule Release: Seahawks-Broncos will feature a few MNF firsts

Wilson’s return to Seattle won’t be the only notable debut. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman will be in the booth for their first Monday Night Football broadcast. It will market the first time the duo is calling a game together somewhere other than FOX after ESPN poached them away in a blockbuster deal of its own this offseason.

Of course, the other notable return is Drew Lock playing against his former team. But let’s not pretend like that’s anything more than a footnote against the backdrop of all the other pomp and circumstance that will be on display Week 1 in Seattle.
