The Green Bay Packers will have plenty of games being played out in primetime this season.

While the Green Bay Packers already know they are playing the New York Giants overseas, expect for them to have a few more primetime/standalone games on their 2022 regular-season schedule.

The Packers have been one of the better regular-season teams in recent years. They have earned the No. 1 seed in the NFC in back-to-back seasons, due in large part to their four-time NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers. While great playoff success has evaded Titletown for some time, look for the Packers to have roughly three more additional standalone games on the schedule this fall.

Should the Packers play four games or so on the big stage by themselves, which ones are they?

In most years, the Packers would be a lock for the maximum of five primetime games. However, they do not have the best array of games this season with the way their 17-game schedule shakes out. Green Bay plays the AFC East, the NFC East and draws the Los Angeles Rams, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tennessee Titans in the competitive balance part of the schedule.

With the Giants date locked in at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Oct. 9, let’s say the Packers have three more primetime/standalone games this season. When it comes to NFC North play, facing the division rival Minnesota Vikings in Minneapolis feels exceedingly primetime. For overall brand purposes, the Packers hosting the Cowboys has every bit the feel of Sunday Night Football, baby.

As far as the fourth primetime game is concerned, it needs to come from the competitive balance part of the Packers’ slate. Though the Buccaneers and Rams dates are very intriguing, FOX will be pounding the table to ensure those are going in the late afternoon window as its NFC Game of the Week. This is why the Titans coming to town has every bit of the Monday Night Football feel to it.
