Seahawks: 3 games Seattle can play spoiler next season
By John Buhler
2. Week 6: vs. Arizona Cardinals (Sunday, Oct. 16)
The other game in divisional play to keep an eye on for a potential Seahawks upset is the Week 6 home date vs. the Arizona Cardinals. Although Arizona got off to a hot start last season, they too are a team of great variance in the NFC. They have not had the quietest of offseasons with regards to Kyler Murray. Entering a year with lofty expectations, it may be one with great disappointment.
While the Cardinals have gotten better every season under head coach Kliff Kingsbury, all it will take is one road disaster early in the year to a rebuilding Seahawks team for it to all go to hell in a hand basket in The Valley of the Sun. Simply put, this is an opportunity for the Seahawks to prove to everyone they will not be as bad as everyone thinks. This could be their third or fourth victory.
Even if the Seahawks are unable to beat the Cardinals in Seattle, Arizona is the likeliest of the three teams in the NFC West that could lose at home to the Seahawks. That could happen a few weeks later in Glendale, but the surprise factor will definitely be on the Seahawks’ side of things heading into their Week 6 contest in mid-October. They have a real shot at the upset in this one.
If Seattle starts the season out 3-3, this team has a decent chance at achieving a winning record.
