2. Kenny Pickett is way more accurate of a passer than Mitchell Trubisky

For as awesome as the fake slide was vs. Wake Forest in the ACC Championship Game, Pickett was a first-round draft pick based on his accuracy as a passer. Could he be a one-year wonder as a super senior at Pitt? Possibly, but his amount of college starts blows anything and everything Trubisky did during his time at UNC. He could not even beat out Marquise Williams for two years…

While the Steelers will lean heavily on running back Najee Harris in his second season out of Alabama, Pittsburgh is not going to keep pace with the Bengals and the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North race if they cannot move the sticks aerially. In a receiving corps featuring Chase Claypool, Pat Freiermuth and now rookie George Pickens, Pickett has to make big things happen.

Even though Pickett may not have the talent of the other AFC North starting quarterbacks, he has way more room to grow than his teammate does. Trubisky is Trubisky, and a well-run team can make him work for them, but Pickett could be a Pro Bowler in the NFL with the right pieces around him. If he is to be a more athletic version of Matt Ryan, let him start in Week 1, just like Ryan did.

Do the Steelers want a handful of three-and-outs from Trubisky or see if Pickett can really pick it?
