1. Week 11: at Minnesota Vikings (Sunday, Nov. 20)

This may not be the most challenging game on the Cowboys’ schedule. Gosh, it’s not even in primetime, how dare they?! But with that in mind, there is nothing easy about their Week 11 road date at the Minnesota Vikings in late November. It will be the Zaza Pachulia of games for America’s Team: The big nuisance who gets in the way of better things. As he said, “nothing easy!”

Although the Cowboys have a well-deserved bye in Week 9, their Week 10 opponent will be on the road vs. the Green Bay Packers. Unless Dak Prescott balls out of his mind, it is going to be very difficult for the Cowboys to win that one. This puts even more pressure on beating the Vikings at their place the following week. In a weird way, there is little to gain and so much to lose in this one.

If the Cowboys beat the Vikings, no one will bat an eyelash. They should win vs. a Kirk Cousins squad led by a rookie head coach in Kevin O’Connell. However, a loss will be another sad day on sports talk radio throughout the country. Should the Cowboys be something like 4-6 after falling to Cap’n Kirk and the boys in the Twin Cities, there is a strong possibly McCarthy may get whacked.

Back-to-back road losses at Green Bay and Minnesota could yield some disastrous consequences.
