Ozzie Guillen, Frank Thomas punch the White Sox while they’re down

The Chicago White Sox lost again to the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night, 6-2. Ozzie Guillen and Frank Thomas weren’t thrilled with the performance.

Both Guillen and Thomas are analysts for NBC Sports Chicago, which televises the White Sox games locally. Ozzie himself got in some trouble with Tim Anderson on Tuesday after he questioned why Tony La Russa was keeping the 27-year-old shortstop out of the lineup.

Anderson didn’t take kindly to that.

On Wednesday night, the South Siders continued their recent slide with a 6-2 loss at the hands of the lowly Royals. Guillen was joined by Thomas, a Hall of Famer, this time around to express their disappointment in the on-field product.

Guy…it’s mid-May! Calm down.

White Sox: Injuries impacting team more than anything

I’m not one to make excuses, but the fact Chicago is just 3.5 games back of the Twins — good for second place in the Central, mind you — despite the odds stacked against them thus far is relatively incredible.

At 18-19, the Sox just got Lucas Giolito back, while also placing Lance Lynn on the 60-day injured list. He should be back sometime in June.

This is the same team that lost the majority of its rotation for stretches. Garrett Crotchet remains on the 60-day IL, and Eloy Jimenez is still out. While they are getting healthier, expecting the Sox to gel right away is unrealistic.

It’s Ozzie’s job to react — that what we love most about him. He’s often over the top and dramatic. As for White Sox fans, they ought to know better.
