Preakness Stakes betting payouts 2022: Trifecta, superfecta payouts
The 2022 Preakness Stakes was won by Early Voting in a great race that didn’t include Rich Strike. But what were the betting payouts for trifecta and more?
A little bit of the luster was taken out of the 2022 Preakness Stakes with Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike and his trainers electing not to run the second race of the Triple Crown. While that might be so, we were still treated to an exciting run at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore.
The favorite, Epicenter, was in the back of the pack for a bit but made a late charge. However, so too did Early Voting from further ahead in the pack. And as they came down the stretch, it looked as if Epicenter might come and get the win. A late move from Early Voting to the inside to essentially block his challenger squashed that, though, giving the horse the victory.
As is often the case with horse racing, though, many people are really looking for the betting payouts. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with the odds per the NBC broadcast.
Preakness exacta payout
For the 5-8 exacta that paid out at Pimlico on Saturday evening, a $2 bet would’ve paid out $25.80, so a nice little profit that gets you to near 13/1 odds for the winner.
Preakness trifecta payout
As for the much more profitable 5-8-2 trifecta at the Preakness Stakes, that would’ve paid out a hefty $66.50 on a $1 bet for the winning ticket and having Early Voting, Epicenter and Creative Minister as the Win-Place-Show for the race.
Preakness superfecta payout
And finally, we have the always impressive superfecta payout. For the 5-8-2-4 superfecta, a $1 bet would’ve paid out a nice $162.90 for the day. It’s not exactly the astronomical numbers we saw from the Kentucky Derby but it’s still a nice overall payday if you hit on any of these bets.
