Warriors: Ja Morant can’t believe Steph Curry put the Mavs to sleep
By Scott Rogust
Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant was shocked seeing Steph Curry putting the Dallas Mavericks to sleep in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals.
Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals looked as though it would go the Dallas Mavericks’ way, which would have definitely made Charles Barkley happy. Instead, the Golden State Warriors flexed their muscles at the end of the game and pulled away to take a 2-0 series lead.
The Warriors solidified the win after star Steph Curry made a clutch three-pointer with less than a minute remaining in regulation. Curry celebrated the shot and made the motion that it was time for the Mavericks to “go to sleep.”
It was the ultimate savage move by Curry, and Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant could not believe it, based on his tweet.

Ja Morant shocked that Steph Curry put the Mavericks to sleep
Morant faced off against the Warriors in the Western Conference Semifinals, playing in three games before being sidelined due to a bone bruise in his knee. Morant averaged a ridiculous 38.3 points, 8.3 assists, 6.7 rebounds and 3.0 steals in those contests. Memphis was ultimately eliminated in six games.
It was another playoff moment that will go down in the Warriors’ history books. Golden State trailed Dallas by 19 points at one point in the second half. The Mavericks were vicious from behind the three-point line, as they made 21-of-45 shot attempts. Yet, The Warriors are showing in their first trip back to the playoffs since 2019 that they still have what it takes to compete for the Larry O’Brien trophy.
Curry finished the night scoring 32 points (11-for-21 from the field, 6-for-10 from 3-point range), grabbing eight rebounds and dishing out five assists in 37 minutes.
The series now heads to Dallas for Games 3 and 4. The Mavericks will look to get on the board with a victory on Sunday, May 22. Tipoff time for the game is 9:00 p.m. ET.
