New York Mets utilityman Jeff McNeil got the best of one San Francisco Giants heckler with a home run at the best possible moment.
McNeil, while hitting a respectable .307 on the season, had just one home run entering Monday night’s game against the Giants at Oracle Park. So, San Francisco baseball fans felt pretty comfortable heckling McNeil over his perceived lack of power.
While McNeil can hit the ball to all fields — something deemed a rarity in today’s game at times — his ability to hit the ball over the fence was brought into question, publicly, by a Giants fan.
So, what happened next?
"Hey McNeil, work out those legs. You've got no power. No power, McNeil"

And that’s that. A quick reminder that despite the fact it was only McNeil’s second home run on the year, these are professional baseball players. They are all capable of hitting the ball a long, long way.
Mets: Jeff McNeil shuts up Oracle Park hater
Over the course of a long season, McNeil’s importance to this New York roster only grows. He can play just about every position on the infield, so when players are hurt, he can step in at a moment’s notice.
McNeil can provide the sort of positional flexibility that is required of a superutility player.
