Game 4 between the Golden State Warriors and Dallas Mavericks had to be delayed because of a leak in the roof. Twitter dripped with memes.
The NBA Playoffs can be unpredictable, but that’s usually because of what happens on the court, not above it.
On Tuesday, the roof at American Airlines Center in Dallas grabbed the spotlight because of a leak that delayed the third quarter of action between the Mavericks and the Warriors.
The leak near the Golden State bench caused a 16-minute delay. Twitter had a ball debating who could benefit in the long run.

This leak is either a metaphor for the Mavs continuing their hot shooting or the Super Splash Bros. making it rain in the 2nd half.

The Mavericks had little reason to engineer a delay. Practically everything in the first went their way as they built a 62-47 lead. Their lead in the third quarter grew as big as 24 points.
The sports world has seen unexpected delays come to the aid of trailing teams in the past. The 49ers launched a comeback against the Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII after a power outage, closing a deficit though ultimately falling.
Once play restarted, Dallas avoided any quick meltdown, maintaining much of their lead through most of the third quarter.
They need to hold on if they want to stay alive in the playoffs. The Warriors jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the series and were looking to close out the sweep on Tuesday. The Mavericks went into Tuesday with a win-or-go-home mentality and they certainly played like it.
