This year’s marquee matchup between Texas and Alabama on Sept. 10 will kick off under the midday sun so fans should have some sunscreen ready.
If you’re planning on attending the big Texas vs. Alabama game this fall, you’re going to want to start drinking your water now.
The Longhorns and Crimson Tide will battle it out at Darryl K. Royal Stadium on Sept. 10. This one won’t be under the lights though.
The kickoff time for Austin is 11:00 a.m. local time. It’ll be the Big Noon Kickoff on FOX.
Kickoff time for Texas vs. Alabama set for 11 a.m. in Austin
On the one hand, the Big Noon Kickoff slot ensures a huge national audience for the game. That’s definitely what FOX cares about.
On the other hand, Texas heat in September is no joke. The fans for both sides won’t have much time to tailgate but they’ll have plenty of time to roast in the sun.
Fans on Twitter saw that one and immediately brought out the memes.

A primetime kickoff for Texas vs. Alabama would be preferable for pretty much everyone except the broadcast company and early risers excited they won’t have to stay up late to watch the game. Unfortunately, that’s just the way it goes in college football.
Regardless of timing, the Longhorns have a challenge on their hands hosting the college football juggernaut of Alabama. The Crimson Tide went to the national championship game last year before falling to Georgia.
The season may have ended in disappointment for Alabama but it was a rousing success compared to what Texas did. The Longhorns got off to a rough start under Steve Sarkisian, posting a 5-7 record while losing to rival Oklahoma to start a six-game losing streak.
