Look: Ole Miss, Lane Kiffin troll Tennessee with 2022 season countdown graphic
By John Buhler
Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss troll Tennessee in Rebels’ latest 2022 season countdown graphic.
We are 100 days out from more Ole Miss football, but Lane Kiffin and the rest of the Rebels found a new and creative way to use a condiment to most effectively troll Tennessee.
Nobody has made better use out of a carefully placed bottle of mustard since Dirty Mike and the Boys. In addition to showing off their latest Egg Bowl and Magnolia Bowl championships, Ole Miss is asserting its dominance over Rocky Top by claiming the Mustard Bowl as their own, too. There is no room for dijon or anything of that spicy nonsense on this graphic, just French’s yellow mustard.
As the old adage goes — or throws in this instance — what goes around, comes back around, alright.
Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss get creative with a bottle of mustard to troll Tennessee
Even if Kiffin’s previous shenanigans in Knoxville will indirectly cost him the third generation of Manning starting quarterbacks, why when the war when you can win the battle? Pettiness is not exactly a virtue, but it is a vice worth having. Some people drink, some people smoke, some people gamble and some people troll Tennessee. To each his own, but there is no ketchup on Lane’s bun.
Let’s be real. It is a gosh darn shame Ole Miss and Tennessee do not play each other annually in the Manning Kiffin Mustard Bowl. Omaha Productions would be an absolute cash cow from this media spectacular. Though Josh Heupel may not be all about that smoke standing next to Smokey in the Smokey Mountains, Kiffin did snag a water bottle at Neyland and tossed his visor post-win.
The man, the myth, the legend may have thrown out the first pitch with a golf ball before the Rebels got shellacked on the diamond by the Volunteers, but it is the incredibly petty thought that counts. Frankly, the only other SEC coach with as close of an association to a random hot dog sandwich condiment is Shane Beamer of South Carolina stardom with mayonnaise because he took a bath.
Only 100 more days until we all can lather a dog/brat up with mustard to watch Ole Miss football.
