2. Trading Tyreek Hill

This felt like a gut punch for Chiefs fans who saw the news broke in real time. The Chiefs were looking to reach an agreement with wide receiver Tyreek Hill on a long-term contract extension. But then, talks broke down, and Hill demanded a trade off of the Chiefs.

It all came down to two teams that were in the running for Hill, but the wideout ultimately chose to accept a trade to the Miami Dolphins. Shortly afterwards, it was revealed that the Dolphins and Hill agreed to terms on a four-year, $120 million contract extension.

Kansas City did make moves to bolster their wide receiver corps this offseason. They signed JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling in free agency and used their second-round selection on Skyy Moore out of Western Michigan.

While the offense could still thrive, losing Hill is huge. With his breakaway speed and his game-changing abilities, Hill’s void could be massive for the Chiefs. Especially when looking at the wide receiver depth charts of the rival Las Vegas Raiders, Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers.
