2. Brock Bowers and Jalen Carter will be unanimous First-Team All-Americans

Even though Georgia will not have 15 players drafted again next spring, the Dawgs should match their total of unanimous First-Team All-Americans from a season ago. New Philadelphia Eagles teammates Jordan Davis and Nakobe Dean accounted for one-fifth of all unanimous selections in 2021. Look for defensive lineman Jalen Carter and tight end Brock Bowers to follow in their path.

Carter will be draft-eligible, as he projects as a top-five pick heading into his junior season. Of all the defensive front-seven players from last year’s historic defense, Carter was seen as the most talented player among them. As for Bowers, he is going to win the Mackey in his true sophomore season. Most importantly, he will be the best player on the best unit college football has to offer.

Other star players will emerge on this team, but Bowers and Carter are poised for monster years.

1. Georgia will make the College Football Playoff but is not repeating in 2022

I am going to keep this really simple. Georgia will win 10-to-12 regular-season games every year for the foreseeable future. Getting to a New Year’s Six bowl is the bare minimum at this point. The Dawgs are not always going to win the Cocktail Party and they are not always going to win in Atlanta, but the New Year’s Six is the new floor. However, the 2022 squad must make the playoff.

The good news is Georgia should be talented enough to either win the SEC or get in as an at-large bid this fall. Outside of Ohio State, there is no “lock” to make the playoff out of the SEC. It could be Georgia and Alabama getting in again. However, the Dawgs may not have the horses this year to keep pace with the Alabama or Ohio State offense, especially with all they lost from the defense.

Georgia may get to the playoff, and maybe win a national semifinal, but do not count on a repeat.
