Former Yankee Tyler Wade betrays old club, recruits Aaron Judge to Angels

Former New York Yankees utility man Tyler Wade says he may have tried to recruit ex-teammate Aaron Judge to the Los Angeles Angels.
New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge has been on fire through the first two months of the 2022 season. He took a chance on himself by turning down an offer from the Yankees, and he has only increased his asking price with his play. As it turns out, the recruiting may have already begun.
Ahead of their game on Tuesday, May 31, Los Angeles Angels utility man Tyler Wade said he “might have planted a couple of seeds” about his former teammate in Judge potentially joining the Anaheim-based team when the two went out had dinner on Monday night.

As NJ Advance Media’s Randy Miller wrote in his article, Wade was just having fun regarding the topic.
Wade spent the first five years of his major league career playing for the Yankees. He played a plethora of positions for New York and was one of their top pinch-running options due to his speed. After the 2021 season, Wade was traded to the Angels.
Throughout his career with New York, Wade recorded a .212 batting average, a .605 OPS, six home runs, 30 stolen bases, 33 RBI, 81 runs and 92 hits in 264 games.
Ahead of this season, Judge turned down a $230 million contract from the Yankees, a move that was criticized. But given how he has played so far this season, he can get a deal even more lucrative if he keeps it up and remains healthy.
Entering Tuesday night, Judge leads the league in home runs (18) and runs (38) through 46 games. He is slashing .309/.376/.669.
Are the Angels a team to watch if Judge is to hit free agency? Well, we will find out once the 2022 season ends and we officially reach Hot Stove season.
