Patrick Mahomes gave us epic trash talk on Josh Allen
By Scott Rogust
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes savagely trolled Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills ahead of The Match.
For those looking for NFL content, they got it on June 1 in the form of The Match VI. It is a golfing event that pits Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen against Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. The Match has not even started yet, and there is friction on one of the teams.
During a sit-down interview, Mahomes was asked by host J.J. Watt what Allen’s biggest fear was. The Kansas City Chiefs decided to dig at the Buffalo Bills signal-caller, saying that his biggest fear is “a coin toss.”

Allen then jumped in after letting the joke by Mahomes settle in, saying that the Chiefs quarterback’s biggest fear was “letting me down on the course today.”
As for the coin toss answer, that is in reference to the conclusion of last season’s epic AFC Divisional Round game between Kansas City and Buffalo. There were a total of three lead changes in the final two minutes, with the Bills going ahead 36-33 with just 13 seconds remaining. Yet, the Chiefs marched down the field quickly on two plays to set up Harrison Butker’s game-tying, 25-yard field goal to force overtime.
That led to the coin toss, which the Chiefs won. They then orchestrated an eight-play drive that ended on an eight-yard touchdown pass from Mahomes to tight end Travis Kelce to get the 42-36 win. And Allen and the Bills never got the chance to step on the field based on the overtime rules.
But, this did lead to change, as the league voted to change the overtime rules, which allows each team to have at least one possession.
Mahomes and Allen may be teammates now, but it may be a matter of time until the two meet in the playoffs this season.
